This photo is the roadblock on my hiking trail I mentioned in our yin yoga class the other week. I was told there was no way through this down tree, but to me… the way through was obvious. It wasn’t until days later when looked at this picture, I saw that way through was in the shape of a heart.

The skies are charged right now, perhaps you can feel that storm a-brewin? A tinge of electricity with Uranus, a bit of friction with Saturn, and a lit match with Mars? We have a powerful fixed T-square with these planets this week, perfecting on July 1.
As we’ve passed the second Saturn square Uranus transit, we add Mars in Leo to that equation. With Mars opposite Saturn, it forces action to change or break down structures. Saturn is in forward-thinking, community-oriented Aquarius while Mars is in the performative courageous sign of Leo. Both have their heels dug in; one in fixed air and one in fixed fire.
The unfortunate condo collapse in Miami is a very apt metaphor for this transit. The structure needed change for a while and was ignored… so a Uranian-like event occurred and brought the whole thing down. This week we’re asked to see where in our lives have we been keeping things upright with toothpicks and Gorilla Glue? Either we make a conscious choice to address the structures in our life that need changing or change will be forced upon us. That is the theme of the Saturn Uranus square and 2021.
When we add Mars into the mix, action is here! Either by us or thrust upon us through events or others. Tempers could be volatile, proceed with caution. Mars opposite Saturn creates a polarity between our act first think later self (Mars) and the strict teacher or manager Saturn part our self. Both are needed to get the job done. Endurance is only welcome when it serves the highest good. If we’ve likened ourselves to a beast of burden, we could be headed for a moment of bombastic redemption or revolution. If we’ve placed too heavy a load on any system, person, or part of our life, a collapse could be due. This could also all be happening internally as we balance the warrior and elder within.
What I have learned from astrology is there is almost always more the story, forces working behind the scenes for our better good. Even in that “tower card” moment, we can look back and see how it led to forks in the road that are necessary for our evolution, personally, relationship-wise, and collectively.
As this fixed T-square evokes necessary change, it is supported on the flip side by harmonious and healing aspects to Chiron. Chiron represents our hurts, wounds, the jagged cliffs of our past. It is from that darkness where we gain knowledge, tools for expansion, and authentic connection, along with true empathy. Saturn, the professor, is taking a mandatory course on advocation and compassion from Chiron as it meets in a cooperative sextile. Here the elder is humble in learning from others who have been through a different journey. Mars has an easy time trine with Chiron, asking us to reconsider what defines the “masculine” energies within.
Can we view our bravery in healing our shadows, bowing to grace, and using ego for the betterment of all as genuine warrior energy? Can we see strength in forgiveness and the power it takes to lay our sword on the ground to help tend the garden of compassion and love to live harmoniously and cooperatively? Can we summon the bravery to be our own warrior?
Some skills we learned from past Chiron explorations are no longer needed. We can lighten our pack for the trails ahead by letting go of shields that serve no purpose now.
Slay your shadows for the good of all.
Stand tall and courageous with an open heart.
Be powerful enough to lend a hand to those in need.
We will need these skills as July opens. Be brave with your heart and true to your path.
