Astrology is the great equalizer.
Throughout history, there are groups of people who consider themselves to be above consequences. There have always been groups who write laws without themselves in mind. The planets are much larger than anything conceived by humankind. The marvel, wisdom, and fury of these planets along with their movements equalize the experiences of all who live on one of them, Earth.
The events of January 6, 2021 will be in the US history books for a long time. January 6th is the day some of us know as “The Epiphany”. The day the New Testament sets aside to honor the 3 wise men who visited Jesus. The 3 wise men were Magi, Zoroastrian priests, who were adept at astronomy and astrology. They followed the star to meet the next ‘King of the Jews’. Some scholars believe they followed the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter. The same planetary conjunction that took place this year on December 21st. What followed is one of the darkest stories in the Bible, the ‘Murder of the Innocents’. King Herod, the paranoid King murdered any baby close in age to the rumored born heir to throne of David. The Magi escaped their own peril by listening to their dreams and taking an alternate safer route home most likely to then, Persia.
We can look towards myths, legends, religious texts, and history as a guide for our current times. Saturn is said to represent our discipline, our masculine way, structures, laws, hierarchy… and last year it met with Pluto (and Jupiter) and began to peel back some layers towards inevitable transformation. This year our Nation is in the beginning* stages of its Pluto return. A transit said to occur on many nation’s civil war or revolutions. Pluto is in Capricorn until 2024. Change is here, we will not be the same, and you don’t need astrological knowledge to see that. Pluto’s influence is deep, bold, and unforgiving.
The Magi’s different route was born from their own studies, their own dreams. With Neptune squaring the Nodes of the Moon, we know that the illusionists are weaving many webs around tired minds from all* sides. We could confuse outside influences for spiritual downloads. We could confuse rhetoric for tried and true facts. We could confuse what seems to be a solid contract for what is actually disappearing ink. Get those receipts! Confusion is the currency of our times. It would be wise to steady ourselves with what is unshakeably real: the earth, the sky, the air, and fire.
Mars will conjunct Uranus on January 19th, yes… again the dates just keep lining up… You may remember that Mars brings passion, fire, war, action and along with Uranus it melds with the energy sudden awakening or sometimes revolution. Now that being said, it is not my intent to add to the “doomscroll”. Could this time be a time when we change the way awakening occurs, most definitely. Could that be the real change? Could humans finally see the ridiculousness in war and needless violence. Could we listen to our intuition and take a different route like the Magi? That is my eternal prayer.
Things to consider for the year ahead – Uranus is the headline, Saturn too… so keeping ourselves somewhat disciplined to our own spiritual practices and health are key! Rest. Eat. Dance. Play. Pray. Meditate. Make Music! 2021 was in no way the finish line. We are planting the seeds for the harvest of generations to come. We need to be disciplined towards our own internal awakening for good to grow. Our actions need to be rooted in the solid ground of truth, always.
